Hello Everyone!
I am Mini Me, also known as Mini Max!

It is very nice to meet you on our website, and hopefully, you have been able to meet me in downtown Idyllwild!

I happen to be a vital part of the Staff of the Office of Mayor Max. In fact, did you know that I, Mini Me, was the official Interim Mayor of Idyllwild in the period of time between Mayor Max, the First, leaving office due to his passing away of old age, and the arrival of Mayor Max, the Second, who then took over as the new Mayor of Idyllwild?

I was the Interim Mayor of Idyllwild between April 2, 2013 and July 21, 2013.

I was initially hired by the Office of Mayor Max, the First, on July 1, 2012, to provide good cheer to children. Over the years, our Chiefs of Staff have purchased thousands of Mini Me’s and custom made my collars and ties by hand from 2012 through 2022. I have been given to children who visit Idyllwild or stop by the Mayor Mobile when the Mayors are downtown on any day and also at events like Idyllwild’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and also at Mayor Max’s birthday party.

When Mayor Max, the First, passed away, I had to do something to lift morale and fill the void. So I came up with this plan. I let the Staff know that I would stand in as the Interim Mayor of Idyllwild, and that’s what I did. I took over all day-to-day activities. We continued to do downtown visits with the Staff to talk to people and share the future vision of the arrival of the new second generation of Mayors of Idyllwild who would arrive in July 2013. This seemed to help a lot.

I also had myself glued to the front of our Mayor Mobiles (cars) and instructed the Chiefs of Staff to drive the streets of Idyllwild so that everyone could see that the Mayor of Idyllwild’s presence was still here. Though the glue and Velcro was a little itchy on my rump fur, it was worth it as we could see smiles as we passed by.

During this interim period of time, I loved riding on the hood of our Jeep as we scouted out puppy locations all over the country working to locate Mayor Max the Second and his two new Deputy Mayors. I was able to help sniff out the replacement and point the driver in the right direction. The search went well, and we found Mayor Max the Second in Aguanga, California, and Deputy Mayors Mitzi and Mikey in Rootstown, Ohio.

Occasionally, I would inhale a bug or two when we were on the freeway, but I don’t mind getting a little extra protein in my diet. So it was OK.

I then came up with a plan to ask the children to also be Interim Mayors of Idyllwild along with me, and I had our Staff prepare certificates for the children, appointing them as Deputy Mayors of Idyllwild to help me uplift the spirits of people and look forward to the arrival of the new Mayors of Idyllwild in the near future. We gave out many of these certificates to the children we met on a daily basis. They were extremely helpful to me in enabling me to fulfill my duties as the Interim Mayor of Idyllwild. Their charter was to convey unconditional love and do as many good deeds for others as possible. Thank you, children, for all of your help. This program was the birth of our Deputy Mayor program that continues to this day and every day in Idyllwild.

When I first became the Interim Mayor of Idyllwild, some people didn’t take me seriously, so I had to give many lectures to people about not discriminating against animals based upon their size or stuffing.

Then, when the new second generation of Mayors arrived in Idyllwild on July 21, 2013, I was thrilled to pass the role of being the Interim Mayor of Idyllwild to Mayor Max, the Second, who became the second Mayor of Idyllwild and was assisted by his Deputy Mayors, Mitzi and Mikey.

I was equally thrilled to return to my role of making more Mini Me’s to give to children and spreading good cheer and happiness. And guess what?!! Adults ask for Mini Me’s just as much as children.

In July 2026, I am happy to say there is now a new and updated version of me available for purchase from us by our Mayor Mobiles when we are downtown in Idyllwild and also are available by contacting our office at 949.525.0100 or by email at max@mayormax.com. Later this year, the new Mini Me will also be available on our website. In the updated version, my name, Mayor Max, is printed on my red tie.

Life is good. I really enjoy seeing the smiles on the faces of children and adults when they get a Mini Me. I am proud to say, too, that I actually helped to bring smiles to faces when it was needed most. I really had an impact, and I know it, and I continue to have a positive impact upon people to this day and into the future as well. I know that sounds odd coming from a “stuffed animal,” but this is a completely true story.
